Outcomes Sought?

1.  Protect the natural values of Hukutai Stream and its environs, along with the green connections between Takapuwahia Park and Porirua Scenic Reserve through animal and weed pest control and regeneration.  Increase the planted riparian area where possible for streambank erosion reduction, stream shading for fish spawning habitat, and for amenity values.

2. Protect cultural values of the site through careful consideration and/or management of earthworks proposals.

3. Continue to provide informal recreation and organised event opportunities, including use of the reserve as a circus venue.

4. Retain existing Dog Exercise Area opportunity between Tangere Drive and Titahi Bay Road.
